Fire Marshal
The Pawcatuck Fire Department Office of the Fire Marshal is contracted by Wequetequock Fire District to provide Fire Marshal Services 24/7/365.

The mission of the Office of the Fire Marshal is to protect the lives, property, and welfare of the residents, businesses, and visitors of the Wequetequock Fire District through comprehensive fire prevention, code enforcement, public education, and fire investigation services. The Office of the Fire Marshal is committed to reducing community risk by conducting fire and life safety inspections. Additionally, the Fire Marshal's Office issues blasting permits and inspects blasting sites, issues burning permits and inspects burning sites, issues permits and inspect underground oil tank removals, reviews plans for construction, additions and renovations to all buildings except 1 and 2 family dwellings, reviews new subdivisions and commercial sites, provides fire prevention education and assisting the public with any fire or life safety concerns or questions.

The Fire Marshal's Office is also responsible for investigating the origin and cause of all fires within the District.
