Notice of Annual Meeting
Notice is hereby given of the annual meeting of the Wequetequock Fire District, to be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 20th, 2026, at the Firehouse of the Wequetequock Fire Company located at 6 Farmholme Road, on the corner of Farmholm Road and U. S. Route 1, Pawcatuck, Connecticut, to transact the following business and other such items of business as are properly brought before said meeting;
FIRST: To receive and act upon the report of the Treasurer with respect to the condition of the Reserve Fund for Non-Recurring Expenditures.
SECOND: To consider the adoption of the annual budget in the total proposed amount of SEVEN HUNDRED THREE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINTEY EIGHT AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($703,498.00).
THIRD: To consider the laying of a tax and fixing of a tax rate of 1.25 mills, for the year beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027, for the taxes due and payable July 1, 2026.
FOURTH: To consider the adoption of the Amended Fire District Bylaws. (download a copy of the proposed by-laws)
FIFTH: To elect a President, Vice- President, Treasurer, Clerk and three (3) Directors.
